Responsibilities & Job Context
Job Context:
The Field Officer – Disaster Relief & Humanitarian Assistance will be responsible for coordinating and implementing emergency response initiatives in disaster-affected areas. This role requires working closely with community members, local authorities, and relief organizations to provide immediate aid and long-term rehabilitation support. The officer will operate under the supervision of the Disaster Management Program Manager and will actively participate in disaster preparedness, relief distribution, and community resilience-building efforts.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct field assessments to evaluate the needs of disaster-affected communities.

Distribute emergency relief materials, including food, medical aid, and shelter assistance.

Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and local leaders to ensure effective humanitarian response.

Monitor post-disaster recovery efforts and support affected families in rebuilding their lives.

Organize community training sessions on disaster preparedness and risk reduction.

Document field activities, beneficiary impact reports, and relief distribution records.

Ensure compliance with disaster relief protocols and humanitarian standards.

Participate in fundraising and donor coordination efforts to secure resources for relief operations.

Assist in setting up temporary shelters, community kitchens, and emergency health camps.

Travel to disaster-hit locations as needed and work in high-pressure emergency scenarios.
